Brief: My task was to choose a subculture, then design and layout a micro-site that celebrates the subculture and brings it to life.
Approach: After researching further into the subculture of hippies, I found a more niche subculture of 'off-gridders'. Their self-reliant lifestyle living out in isolated locations interested me. I wanted to create a look and feel that captures their self-sufficient lifestyle, its a DIY aesthetic looking rusty, old, battered, distressed and scrappy. Therefore I wanted to create some of the elements myself to really bring this concept to life whilst making the websites user flow and experience sleek and professional.
